The Operations Director will require an ability to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, balancing delivery of strategic initiatives with the fast-paced immediate priorities of BAU.

You will collaborate with external stakeholders such as clients, investors, consultants and auditors and will have the opportunity to develop and expand your professional network to ensure we continue to look externally for opportunities to improve our offer.

With fund management at the core of the role, you will work closely with the leadership team in QI, both across the fund management core of the role and also bringing your insight and problem solving to strategic projects or reviews

You will oversee risk, controls, and governance in your area, managing within risk appetite.

Collaborating with the QIL Leadership you will offer your insight and experience in developing strategy and business planning in order to facilitate the sustainable growth and development of the business.


These include pro-activity, managing ambiguity, being delivery and outcome orientated, driving for simplicity / avoiding bureaucracy, building consensus and teamwork.


It is essential that you have significant experience in running asset management operations and can demonstrate technical knowledge in key areas such as fund accounting, transfer agency, investment operations, dealing and CASS.

As a recognised thought leader, you will draw on your operational expertise and perspective of the business and industry, offering unique guidance, inspiring innovation, and influencing others to deliver.


With strong influencing and negotiation skills, and a high level of resilience, you will be proficient in quickly building trusted relationships and working effectively to build consensus to deliver new and improved ways of running our operations.

You will have experience of working with ambiguity, shifting priorities and rapid change, demonstrating the ability to balance BAU and transformation.

Utilising market intelligence from third parties to shape opportunities for improvement across your areas.


Demonstrating a detailed understanding of the UK regulatory environment, you will apply your knowledge of risk management and governance, ensuring positive Client outcomes in all aspects of your work.
