Lead practitioner for behaviour and attitudes
This is a full-time position starting in September 2023 on leadership pay scale L11-15. This post requires regular travel to academies across the OAT network. The role will provide expertise, advice, guidance and support to our academy behaviour leads and their teams.


You will work collaboratively with the Education and inclusion team to develop a positive behaviour culture in all OAT academies.

You will create and implement a strategic Trust wide plan for behaviour which identifies contextual priorities and accommodates academies individual needs.


The successful post holder will deliver and be the main lead for NPQLBC (leading behaviour and culture), enhancing this is utilised to enhance OAT's inclusion strategy.

Key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Work with the Education and Inclusion teams to ensure that other relevant OAT policies and processes (e.g. safeguarding, SEND, mental health, attendance, exclusions, anti-bullying) are connected so everyone is working together to support children.
  • Champion and promote an ethos and conditions that support a positive behaviour culture so that OAT academies are secure, predictable and safe environments.
  • Work with academy leaders to ensure that behaviour systems are clear, robust, and understood and applied fairly by all.
  • Contribute to the creation of whole school approaches to behaviour that are built on strong relationships between pupils and staff.
  • Work with teachers to ensure they are skilled and confident in managing behaviour effectively and can meet Teachers' Standards 1 and
  • Audit current approaches and provision and gather regular information from academies on provision, practice and impact. This information should be used to support academies with their own action planning and to provide intelligence to Education Directors at a strategic level.

Requirements:

You will be experienced in working in more than one school. You will have led on whole school behaviour programmes and approaches. Knowledge and expertise in behaviour strategies and staff training. You will be an excellent communicator, able to devise and deliver short
- and long-term strategic plans and use data to develop and implement improvements.
