At Oakhill Secure Training Centre we look after young people aged 12 to 18 years old who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention.

The vulnerable young people in our care can be challenging with a wide range of social and emotional complex needs.

This is an environment that calls for high standards of social care and service delivery to provide a secure and stable environment for young people to develop their life skills and address the behaviours that have led them into custody.


Oakhill Secure Training Centre works closely with the Youth Custody Services to ensure that its regimes and designs reflect best practice in residential care to prevent offending.

We are looking for an experienced Administrator to join our Resettlement team at Oakhill Secure Training Centre.

With excellent administration and organisational skills you will provide an effective and efficient administration service to a functional/ departmental team.

Some of the key responsibilities are;

  • Provide a full administrative service so that the needs of the functional/departmental team are met.
  • Maintain effective work systems, ensuring that all correspondence and documentation is dealt with in a professional manner that meets audit requirements.
  • Organise and coordinate meetings, diaries, events and travel arrangements ensuring individual and
- functional/departmental objectives are met including the taking of minutes.

  • Maintain comprehensive stocks of all forms and documentation required by the function/department so that it is
- available when required.

  • Collate, produce, maintain and distribute regular and adhoc statistics and reports using Google Sheets so that
- individuals and departments receive accurate up to date information.

  • Deal with all routine phone queries so that an appropriate response is provided.
  • Collate and distribute information and reports on team activity to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Type up any minutes or documents as required by the Head of Resettlement
  • Upload documents to electronic case management systems.
  • Making of case files and dead filing/archiving at the end of the Young People's orders.
  • Work collaboratively with admin from other departments and to provide cover where/when necessary
  • Document the receipt of legal documents and check the validity of these, actioning as appropriate.
  • Keep records of court appearances and ensure transport is booked appropriately for these.
  • Ensure internal systems document court appearances with regards to upcoming dates and ensure internal staff are aware of these in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with court staff from across the country.
  • Coordinate the Sentence Calculations of sentenced children and young people.
All staff employed by G4S has the responsibility for their own Health and Safety and to their colleagues in order to assist G4S in its obligation to achieve British Safety Council Requirements at all times
