About the role
An opportunity to join Cadent Gas in an interesting and focused department covering Human Factors.


You will work with the Human Factors specialist and the safety and sustainability teamto deliver improvement programmes and drive continuous improvement in relation to safety.


Also you will support the delivery of safety projects and campaigns, develop project plans and support project teams, managing stakeholders from across the business to deliver against set timescales.


Key Accountabilities

  • Directly engage with engineers in operations and support teams to drive human factors principles through the organisation
  • Provide support and advice to the business on human factors principles in relation to safety, ensuring that changes in legislation and best practice are brought into the business as swiftly as possible
  • Support the design and implementation of a learning and just culture both within Cadent and its partners
  • Support the integration of human factors principles in the design and delivery of effective and usable health and safety management systems
  • Support the implementation of a culture of understanding the causes of and mitigating human error in our work, including through integrating human factors into our existing investigation processes
  • Support key pieces of Cadent work in relation to human factors in behaviour & culture, personal and process safety, with opportunities to lead on some pieces of work
  • Supporti the business on human factors risks, including but not limited to fatigue management
  • Job and shift pattern design, with opportunities to lead on some pieces of work

About You
t is essential that you hold the following qualiactions;
BSc Human Factors / Ergonomics / Organisational Psychology or equivalent (if you are in your final year - eel free to apply)

We would also expect you to be a member, or be working towards memberhip of C.I.E.H.F. due to the specialist nature of the role.

Add to that you can demonstrate knowledge and understandings of;

  • Safety Critical Task Analysis
  • Human error and reliability assessment
  • Influencing and developing behaviour and culture
  • Ergonomics
  • Fatigue management
