Our client is a UK leader in the construction industry, specialising in large engineering projects ranging from complex rail infrastructure, the design and build of green power stations, and building and maintaining complex suspension bridges.


As a site engineer you will manage the day-to-day engineering activities of the Derby site providing technical advice, managing on-site staff and ensuring technical compliance and quality standards are maintained.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the Engineering activities on site on a daytoday basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control
  • Check design documents with architects, surveyors and engineers to ensure accuracy of construction information
  • Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed
  • Communicate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and other departments involved in the project on engineering matters
  • Issuing of permits to authorise physical works commencement (permit to dig etc)
  • Operate site instrumentation for topographical surveys and service locating equipment
