Your new company
We are collaborating with one of the most renowned children's charities in the UK to hire an in-house commercial legal counsel.
Your new role
As a Commercial Legal Counsel, a vital part of a growing legal and company secretariat team, you will offer strategic legal advice to support the charity's mission across various activities. Your main tasks will include drafting, negotiating, and advising on contracts, data protection, intellectual property, fundraising law, and public procurement. Additionally, you will handle governance, legal compliance, and dispute resolution for the charity.
Key requirements for success
To qualify for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Qualified England & Wales solicitor, preferably with 2-4 years' PQE, although other experience levels will be considered.
- Proven background in commercial law and public procurement.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
- Broad understanding of the legal framework in which the charity operates.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Benefits of this role
- Competitive salary, approximately £65,000
- 1 day in-office per week (central London) with covered travel for non-London residents.
- 26 days of annual leave plus bank holidays and the option to purchase up to 5 extra days.
- Group Personal Pension Plan with a contribution match up to 6%.
- Death in service cover up to 4 times annual earnings.
