Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, United Kingdom New Leaf Triangle cic Full time

Job Description - Education/Activities Session Leader

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to join our team delivering alternative education and activity sessions to children and young people, in our outdoor, animal-focussed setting.

The role is a minimum of 30 hours a week, during term time. This will usually be across 4 or 5 days each week, with some additional evenings and weekends required. Hours are also available during most school holidays. Full time hours are usually available, but this cannot be guaranteed.

There may also be the option to agree a zero hours contract for a 2 or 3 day per week role.

Full induction and training, including AET (Award in education and training) will be given but you will need some experience of working with horses and other animals, and have a love for spending time outdoors, supporting young people.

Most sessions are delivered on a 1:1 basis with students, and so the ability to think and work flexibly, using initiative and creativity and responding to the needs of the young person is a must.

New Leaf Triangle is a not-for-profit organisation providing outdoor, therapeutic activities for children and young people who have mental health difficulties, learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, early trauma or health conditions or disabilities.

Some young people exhibit challenging behaviour. We provide alternative education in term time and fun activity sessions in school holidays.

Full background checks and collection of references will be done for all successful applicants as part of our rigorous Safeguarding policy.
