MOPAC, responsible for overseeing the Mayor's role as the Police and Crime Commissioner, is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC collaborates closely with the Mayor of London and the Metropolitan Police Service to prioritize community safety in London. Are you passionate about leveraging data effectively? MOPAC is in search of a skilled Data and Information Governance Manager to spearhead our initiatives in this critical area. In this role, you will establish and execute a robust Data Governance Framework to ensure MOPAC's compliance with relevant laws and optimize data utilization. The Data and Information Governance Manager at MOPAC plays a pivotal role in steering the organization's efforts related to data protection and information governance. This encompasses creating a framework for regulatory compliance, conducting staff training, and overseeing a network of Data Champions. Additionally, you will be tasked with addressing data management challenges, maintaining data governance tools, and collaborating with various teams across MOPAC.

  • Become MOPAC's data expert - ensure adherence to data protection and information governance regulations.
  • Provide training programs to empower staff at all levels in efficient data management.
  • Establish a monitoring mechanism to assess compliance continuously and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Regularly update MOPAC leadership on significant data governance risks, performance, and compliance.
  • Drive the creation of a Corporate Data Governance Programme to meet all technical, legal, and regulatory requisites.
  • Lead and support a network of MOPAC Data Champions to promote best data practices.
  • Periodically review and enhance Data Governance policies.
  • Collaborate with shared services to ensure adherence to current and compliant record management practices.

  • A proven track record in developing and overseeing effective data governance frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills - ability to elucidate complex subjects clearly and compellingly.
