Are you prepared for a challenging and rewarding position as a Project Manager for a significant project at Dounreay? We are looking for a skilled individual to lead a well-established team in delivering excellence for a major power transmission line in the North of Scotland.


Role Overview:

As the Project Manager, you will have a crucial role in supervising the planning, implementation, and completion of Dounreay Substation project.

The project involves a high voltage alternating current (HVAC) transmission system between Finstown in Orkney and Dounreay in Caithness, capable of transmitting not less than 220MW of power, and you will be essential in ensuring that all project goals are achieved within specified timeframes and financial limitations.

All lodging, transportation, and subsistence expenses will be handled by the contractor.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the project team through all project phases, from initiation to closure.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets to monitor progress and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to collect requirements, address issues, and facilitate efficient communication throughout the project's lifecycle.
- Supervise project resources, such as staff, equipment, and materials, to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Enforce safety measures and quality standards to uphold a secure work environment and deliver top-notch outcomes.
- Proactively identify and address risks to reduce disruptions and deviations from project objectives.
- Monitor and communicate project performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to stakeholders and senior management.
- Cultivate a harmonious and encouraging team atmosphere, offering leadership, guidance, and assistance to project team members.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.

- Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly in the construction sector, with a strong history of completing projects on schedule and within budget.

- Exceptional leadership skills with the capacity to motivate and empower team members to attain project targets.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the capability to make prudent decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, such as Agile or Scrum, is advantageous.
- Project management certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
