The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Senior Health Care Support Worker to join our team at Houldsworth Centre. The post holder will deliver high quality care in accordance with guidance given and work delegated by registered nurses.

The post holder will ensure a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy.


To ensure the smooth running of the North East Sector Community Nursing referral Centre, which covers Bellshill, Motherwell and Wishaw.


To provide comprehensive support to clinical staff within the sector and also to have a clinical knowledge to enable fast access for patients to be assessed and triaged by a registered nurse.


To enable good knowledge and ongoing support to patients using the referral centre there will be an expectation of some clinical work to be undertaken.

The post holder will deliver high quality care in accordance with guidance given and work delegated by registered nurses.

The post holder will ensure a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy.

What we'll need you to bring:

  • SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
  • Car driver with valid a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence.
  • Ability to carry clinical and nonclinical equipment e.g. scales, blood pressure monitors, health records, health promotion materials etc

This role will be based in Houldsworth-District Nurse/LTC Team within Houldsworth Centre
