We have an exciting opportunity for a positive and self-motivated Distribution Operator to join our Distribution department here at CooperVision _.

_Your role would be to carry out a range of varied tasks in order to pick, sort, scan, package and dispatch contact lenses to ensure customer requirements, production performance targets and quality standards are met.

**Responsibilities: - Picking materials and lenses for customer orders in accordance with company procedures and work instructions:

  • Picking lenses from OSR and Pick to light moving machinery.
  • Picking lenses from standard picking locations (WQ and RFX).
  • Picking lenses from racking locations using Wav Machines at height. Collating fully picked orders and moving to multi tote sorting area.
Pre-sorting lenses for customer orders in accordance with company procedures and work instructions:
Manually pre-sort orders in line with customer requirements.

Scanning fully picked customer orders in accordance with company procedures and work instructions:

  • Following bespoke customer requirements, scan fully picked orders using computerised stock systems.
  • Packing finished orders into cartons.
  • Packing finished orders onto pallets. Using pallet trucks to move loads.
Dispatching customer orders in accordance with company procedures and work instructions:

  • Following bespoke customer requirements, sort orders for shipment and complete paperwork.
  • Packing finished orders onto pallets.
  • Using pallet trucks to move loads.
  • Loading trucks. Communication with shipping office.

Ensure best practices are followed in line with:

  • Standard operating procedures.
  • GMP/5s. Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • Health and Safety
Comply with health and safety regulations within the team and the environment, ensuring safe practice regarding use of equipment (i.e. machinery, lift truck, manual handling equipment etc) and general good housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

  • A full job description is available upon request.**What skills and experience should you have?
  • PC literate, basic skills in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of working in a warehouse environment, with use of operating machinery / manual handling equipment, e.g. Wav Machine, Pump Trucks and Trollies preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand and work to SOP's/ Work Instructions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well with all team members including line managers and support operations in English.
  • Positive attitude and ability to selfmotivate and demonstrate initiative to promote team working.
  • Team player with ability to relate to people and form relationships easily.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision within a team and be able to work effectively on your own.
  • Punctual for daily tasks and the motivation to work to set targets.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own workloads effectively. Five GCSE's or equivalent preferred.
