The post holder will work as part of ateam providing Barnet Federated GPs services, predominately in the ExtendedAccess Service.
This role will involve working with clinicians in other Barnet FederatedGPs services, such as the Extended Hours Service (EHS), Smoking Cessationservice, and Anticoagulation Service, with the expectation of contributing toother services when directed by the Medical Director. The role may involveworking in and supporting the development of new services. The post holder maybe required to support staff in other clinical roles, as directed, and thiswill involve the opportunity to develop clinical leadership skills.

About usBarnet Federated GPs CIC (BFG) is a not for profit organisation, putting GPs and healthcare professionals at the forefront of Primary Healthcare provision in Barnet.
The Federation is building a large clinical and non clinical team who will work as one in developing Primary Care Services in Barnet for its approximate 425,000 patients and support its Primary Care Networks.

Job responsibilitiesThe post holder will work as part of ateam providing Barnet Federated GPs services, predominately in the ExtendedAccess Service.
The post holder will provide clinicalassessment and treatment for the delivery of a safe, efficient, and reliableclinical service. They will work closelywith the Medical Director, and Chief Operating Officer. They will form links and developrelationships with secondary care and GP Service colleagues and those workingin the wider healthcare community. The post holder will ensure patients receiveoptimal care in the correct setting within the healthcare system. Health policies and standard operatingprocedures will be adhered to and, if relevant, refined.
In the Extended Access Service (EAS) the patient will undergo clinicalassessment and review, examination, appropriate investigations requested e.g.x-rays, scans, blood tests; and a diagnosis and management plan will beagreed. On occasions onward referralsmay be needed to specialities and an expectation of a credible referral shouldbe made.

Person Specification Qualifications- Medical Degree
- MRCGP
- GMC registration
- Excellent clinical communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of practising as a GP in Barnet.
- Committed to the delivery of high quality clinical care within a framework of Clinical Governance.
- Awareness of local Safeguarding policies and relevant legislative guidance.
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of patients in a multi cultural community in service delivery.
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of NHS primary care and community services.
- Understanding of the issues involved in working across the interface between primary and secondary care.
- Up-to-date with NHS policies and practices.
- Understanding of the role of the Care Quality Commission
- Integrated approach to team working and a willingness to fully participate in Practice Meetings.
