We have a fantastic opportunity for a Designate position available at our Catford Retail Store and other retail stores within an hours drive from the location.

Our Deputy Managers play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our stores in the absence of the Store Manager. If you already have experience in a junior management role, this is the chance to elevate your career to the next level. In this role, you will be tasked with enhancing the customer experience, optimizing profits, minimizing losses, and ensuring that your store colleagues are focused on achieving their sales targets and exhibiting Customer First behaviors consistently.

Central to this role are the relationships with colleagues and customers. You will motivate, acknowledge achievements, and foster a positive environment where both colleagues and customers feel appreciated, fostering trust and loyalty. As a dynamic leader, you will be well-informed about our competitors and have a strong drive for achieving excellence in service. On the sales floor, you will lead by example, being a prominent figure in guiding your team.

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for effective planning of store operations, commercial changes, and inventory management. You will oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of store staff, driving engagement within your team. By promoting a culture of customer service excellence, you will ensure that targets are met, with customer satisfaction as a top priority. Operational adherence will guarantee that quality standards are maintained to safeguard both customers and staff.

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following skills and experiences:

  • Proven experience in a junior management position, preferably in a retail sales environment
  • Ability to lead and coach team members individually
  • Demonstrated record of meeting compliance standards related to health and safety and retail operations
  • Proficiency in labor scheduling and time management
  • Experience in providing real-time coaching/training to enhance customer experience
  • Successful track record in achieving sales targets, including accessory sales
  • Evidence of meeting customer-centric metrics
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and understanding of the current business landscape
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the willingness to learn internal systems
