An opportunity to join Guy Carpenter working as the Reinsurance Broker for the Natural Resources team as part of GC Facultative.

We will rely on you to:

  • Assist with the renewal of reinsurance programs with a focus on regional/multinational clients and prospects.
  • Meet with clients, as necessary, to learn their needs and maintain/develop strong relationships.
  • Analyse risks and assist with developing solutions for clients' needs.
  • Assist with responding to client queries and concerns, resolving issues promptly in order to maintain client satisfaction.
  • Communicate with GC Network, providing knowledge and expertise on Power, Mining & Energy, whilst inform on the latest market trends and entrants in the London market.
  • Demonstrate proficient awareness of market conditions to better serve clients and obtain the best terms from the Markets.
  • Initiate renewal process of placements in good time anticipating and preventing problems when possible.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and insurance/reinsurance companies to efficiently communicate client demands and requests internally.
  • Visit existing clients and new prospects where appropriate.
  • Delivers daily service to the GC offices and clients for the specific product line that assures that their risk management needs are appropriately met.
  • Implements/manages and maintains a quality postsales service plan where appropriate.
  • Creates and presents renewal proposals to existing clients and participates in presentations to prospective clients.
  • Keeps abreast of changing market conditions and informs client executives carriers, brokers and/or clients of major development affecting various types of coverage.
  • Identifies the need for new products and suggests solutions to brokers, clients and carriers.

What you need to have:

  • Experience of reinsurance programmes across Power, Mining & Energy.
  • Very strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Business development skills.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Solid international (re)insurance market knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of financial and professional risks products
  • Numeric and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret a balance sheet.
  • The ability and dedication to handle high work volumes at peak times of the year.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients and industry leaders at all levels (team player).

What makes you stand out:

  • University graduate with Mathematics, Finance, Statistics preferred but not essential.
  • CII qualifications are desirable
  • Account handling end to end.
  • Experience in Facultative Reinsurance.
  • Comparable senior experience within (re)insurance broking
  • Experience working with multinational clients and stakeholders across all management levels
  • Wellversed in MSOffice software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
