RPS is looking for Trainee Leakage Engineers to join our Water Operations Division in Wales. Roles are currently available in Carmarthenshire. Our team of Leakage Engineers are essential in our strategic priorities - delivering excellent customer service and executing complex operational tasks. Whether you are just starting out or progressing in your career, this position provides an opportunity for you to grow with RPS.

This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday 07:00 - 15:30 plus overtime, bonus, benefits, and pays a competitive wage. You will also receive a company van.

We are specifically looking for candidates in the Carmarthenshire area at this time.

What you'll be doing

This is a fantastic first step into a career in the water industry. You will receive comprehensive training and personalized mentorship. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will drive leakage reduction by resolving operational issues, including detecting leaks on our clients' network using various methods:

  • Assessing, diagnosing, and determining solutions to reduce leakage
  • Maintaining Health and Safety standards
  • Achieving KPI targets and reducing leakage within DMA's
  • Assisting in leak location excavations
  • Training and mentoring assistant technicians
  • Handling general admin tasks
  • Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues and clients

Who we're looking for?

  • Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous, but we will provide training in various aspects of the clean water industry
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and methods
  • Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail
  • Team player with great communication skills
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to work efficiently and report accurately
  • Full UK or Irish Driving Licence
