Trust Colorectal Research Fellow
Working Full time: 40 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for new Clinical Research Fellows (CRFs)
The Northwest colorectal clinical research fellowships have been developed with support and engagement from NHS organisations and the University of Liverpool along with generous charitable support from bowel and cancer research charities.
The fellowship is aimed at surgical trainees who have obtained their MRCS/FRCS and have completed at least one clinical year with middle grade on call.
CRFs will be salaried (and paid by the local NHS trust) through their support of the out of hours on call rota at their base trust.
Colorectal research projects will be supervised by the academic surgical team at the University of Liverpool and depending on the nature of the project may also involve collaboration with other external stakeholders.
Research projects will range from qualitative projects investigating health inequalities and palliative care, through to translational wet lab projects and large scale bioinformatic projects.
PARTICIPATING TRUSTS
Liverpool University Foundation Hospitals Trust
Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust
Wirral University Hospital Trust
CRF will have roles and responsibilities to both the NHS and the University, the primary aim of this fellowship is to support clinical career development and train the clinical researchers of the future.
The programme therefore aims to support and educate CRFs across the many domains of clinical research and opportunity for collaborative work with other CRFs in the programme will be encouraged.
