We are a small and friendly care home just outside of Tavistock, striving to provide excellent quality of care.

You and the Role

We are looking for a Team leader or experienced Senior care assistant ready to take that next step in their career.

You will be working alongside the Home Manager and other Senior team members to provide the highest standards of person-centred care to the home's residents.

In this role you will be expected to lead a team of carers to:

  • Provide the highest quality care to support the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of our residents.
  • Lead shifts by supervising and setting the standard of care provided.
  • Support the team in delivering individual personcentred care to each resident and support with daily activities.
  • Administer medication.
  • Liaise with outside professionals such as GP's, DN team, OT's, Social Workers and Pharmacy, as required.
  • Write and update care plans, including keeping accurate daily records.
  • Assist the Manager with regular updates to the risk assessments.
  • Provide mentorship and support for colleagues, ensuring new colleagues integrate successfully into the organisation, and the existing team is supported and mentored.
  • Provide feedback to the team, organise and provide regular supervision and appraisals for team members.
  • Promote resident's choices, dignity, and independence.
To be considered you should be able to deliver high standards of person-centred care.

You should demonstrate good leadership skills, leading by example, with an ability to motivate the care team in providing high quality of care.

You should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to give instruction, and feedback to colleagues.

You should also have good admin and record keeping skills, ensuring all documentation is updated and recorded appropriately and on time.
