Our client in Brackmills, Northampton is looking for an experienced Transport Administrator on an on-going basis.
£28.5k
Tuesday-Saturday
11am - 7pm

Main duties of a Transport Administrator:

  • Managing daily transportation operations, including scheduling deliveries and pickups, tracking shipments, and maintaining records.
  • Collaborating with drivers to optimise routes and ensure ontime deliveries while minimising fuel costs.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining vehicle inspection records.
  • Conducting regular performance reviews of drivers and recommending training and improvements where needed.
  • Coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Assisting in planning and scheduling transportation activities, including route planning and load optimisation.
  • Providing a high level of customer service and interacting with customers to address enquiries.
  • Using transportation management software and analytics tools.
  • Analysing transportation data to identify trends and enhance efficiency.
  • Striving for continuous improvement and seeking ways to enhance the overall transportation.
  • Communicating with drivers, dispatchers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
  • Addressing delays and unforeseen issues promptly with tracking and monitoring tools and technologies.
  • Ability to work alone without close supervision and using initiative to make independent decisions.
  • Confident telephone manner
