These growth plans include implementing a real time end-to-end Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform, a multi-million-pound investment, and part of our long-term digital transformation initiative.

Focused on advancing our technology and integrating web-based navigation, this EHR will allow HCA UK clinicians and colleagues to enhance patient safety, quality and care and to maintain our outstanding ratings and continue to be a global market leader in complex care.

Therefore, we are investing in a new workforce to lead this change, and we are actively recruiting now for a 2023 start, focused on change management, transforming work practices, and project delivery of goals and objectives.


In summary


As a Subject Matter Expert, the postholder will be an expert in their clinical or operational area and highly credible among their colleagues.

Subject Matter Experts play a key role in ensuring that the programme accurately captures and responds to clinical and operational need and translate current workflows into the digital arena.

The postholder will be required to work with the wider programme team to support the EHR roll out and transformation of HCA to new digital systems and technologies.


Specific Deliverables:

  • Accountable for the progress against the workstream KPI's for the programme, reporting up to the programme level for Executive Oversight.
  • Ensure that patient safety and experience is the overarching priority within any digital transformation/change process
  • Identify and document programme risks and hazards associated with the HER
  • Review and approve training materials, support golives, train and support local EHR champions.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders ensuring programme priorities are understood.
  • Experience implementing trust wide digital systems is desirable.
  • Healthcare or regulated industry background is desirable.
  • Understanding of different clinical IT systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • Understanding of the requirements of an information culture and emerging technologies.
