An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Packaging Structural Designer in Scotland.Working as part of a team in a busy design department with the intention to move to Livingston next year, reporting to the Technical Office Manager, you will work with the sales team to design tailored packaging solutions for our customers.
In addition, it will be important to work closely with the production team to ensure that all developments are designed with plant and machine efficiencies in mind.
Packaging Structural Designer - Tasks and Responsibilities**:
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop original packaging solutions using design technology and create product sample prototypes for customer review.
- Work with production and customers to troubleshoot and solve machine run ability and product development issues.
- Help with quote requests by providing technical information on packaging specifications and gain production approval of new products.
- Work with sales, customer services, commercial and production to ensure excellent communication and coordination of developments.
- To act and behave in a safe manner that ensures safety and wellbeing and that of your colleagues and complies with legislation and site safety rules.
Experience:
- 25 years' workrelated experience in a similar environment.
- CAD design experience essential.
- Knowledge of ESKO and CAPE Pack software would be an advantage.
- Effective communication skills both oral and written.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including outlook.
- Knowledge of Adobe software would also be an advantage.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload.
