Kenilworth, Warwickshire, United Kingdom NATIONAL FARMERS UNION Full time

Job Title:
Customer Service Apprentice

Business Services

Salary:
£16-17k (dependent upon experience) and competitive benefit package

Location:
Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, possible 1 day for study at home

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Apprenticeship:
Customer Services - level 2 or 3

Do you want to gain a variety of experience across a number of different customer service teams in a forward-thinking and friendly organisation?

This role will give you an insight into what it's like to be part of an organisation which focuses on first class customer service.

The National Farmers' Union (NFU) is the biggest farming organisation in the UK.

We're proud to make a difference for all our members, by shaping attitudes towards British farming and leading the charge on a range of major issues, from climate change and food standards to rural crime and broadband rollout.

What you'll bring:

You'll be a great communicator, as you will be dealing with lots of people, you will be able to use your initiative as no two days are the same.

You will bring fresh ideas and a positive and helpful approach.

You will not need any relevant work experience but if you can demonstrate any team working and strong work ethic as part of a part-time job or Duke of Edinburgh etc that will be useful.

You'll relish the thought of completing your apprenticeship in customer services and you will need to be organised to balance your work and apprenticeship scheme requirements.

The apprenticeship is predominantly office-based with your learning sessions taking place online.

There may be an opportunity for you to carry out up to one day a week working from home to assist with your studies.

You will need to be able to get to our beautiful rural location in Stoneleigh Park whether that is driving or via public transport as the role is office based, except for a study day to enable you to focus on your apprenticeship.

Why choose us?
Join us and you'll find an organisation that encourages and enables you to achieve your full potential.

In return you will be rewarded with a comprehensive suite of benefits including:

  • Generous holiday allowance (starting at 25 days a year pro rata + Bank Holidays, rising to 30 days pro rata with length of service), plus 1 annual Christmas company day
  • Option to buy and sell up to 5 days annual leave
  • Company funded health Cashplan helping you with everyday costs
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental leave
  • Performancerelated pay
  • Competitive Pension and Life Assurance Schemes
  • Access to interestfree loans for cars, bikes, season tickets and driving lessons
  • Employee Assistance program to help you deal with life's challenges
  • Discounts on new vehicles, holiday rentals, wellbeing and lifestyle and many more
  • Attractive, stylish office environment in a beautiful nature reserve, with onsite restaurant offering delicious menu's, barista service and free parking.

Business Services
This role sits within the biggest department in the NFU.

There are a plethora of roles that cover multiple disciplines including sales, customer service, legal advice, administration, reception and so much more.

With the other half of the roles being on the front line, delivering the best experience possible, is our highest priority, whether that's creating the right first impression for visitors, making outbound calls, to seek members views, or helping to answer member queries from the c.50k calls we receive each year.

The remaining roles have a commercial focus to generate income for the organisation.

This is achieved through selling membership, developing partnerships with discount providers that also supplement the membership offering, delivering paid for services to both members and non-members and selling advertising space in our publications an on our websites.

Who we are?

Every day, we're the voice of around 47,000 British farmers and growers who produce food, making sure their concerns are heard at the heart of government both online and locally.

This means developing strong relationships with everyone from NFU colleagues to government ministers.

So, as well as having a high profile in both the media and Westminster, we work with and support local members through a network of regional and county offices across England and Wales.

Join us
We're committed to recruiting a diverse and highly talented workforce.

We'll support you by providing you with extensive learning and development opportunities and build a career that balances your professional ambitions with your personal commitments including discussions around agile and flexible work options.
