Role overview:

  • To support individuals and families who have housing related support needs as a result of experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Working within the community and a multiagency Hub
  • You'll undertake risk assessments, management and safety planning
  • You'll create support plans and help people achieve their goals and independence, working collaboratively as part of a team who embrace differences
  • You'll act as a key worker to motivate and empower people to gain independence and reach their full potential
  • Further enhance your relationship building and partnership working skills, by promoting your services and working closely with the local authorities, housing providers, landlords, specialist charities, Police, probation and social services
  • 35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5pm (flexible working as per service need)
  • Support Workers are required to be part of the first tier on call rota, including telephone and inperson support. Providing On Call support and advice for colleagues, with issues and emergencies they may need to deal with. This may require providing some shift cover / out of hours project attendance where alternatives are not possible

  • A nonjudgemental mind set and an understanding of the impacts of domestic abuse, trauma, homelessness, substance misuse and family breakdown
  • A forwardthinking and resilient attitude, to overcome the barriers and setbacks you may face
  • A strong character who can remain calm and collected in challenging situations
  • Experience in support work or domestic abuse with an understanding of housing options, housing law and basic benefits
  • A full UK driving license and access to a car
