Step Forward Tuition are recruiting a part time tutor to work in our growing tuition business. These positions will start as soon as possible.

You will tutor A-Level students in years 1 and 2 in Maths, English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Psychology. These positions will be based at our Tuition Centre in Whitefield.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Provide one to one and group tuition (maximum 4 students) between the hours of 3.45pm until 8.30pm Monday to Wednesday (hours are flexible and can be worked around your commitments).
  • Tailor lesson content according to the individual pupil's needs, following a specific lesson plan.
  • Attend meetings when required.
  • Keep detailed records of pupil's lessons and progress.
  • Provide parents with feedback on the progress of their children.
  • Have degree level education. (A teaching assistant qualification or similar may also be acceptable)
  • Be able to communicate with clear and fluent speech.
  • Dress smartly when teaching and maintain a tidy working environment.
  • Be punctual.
  • Be able to teach the course material.

Preferred (but not essential):

  • Some teaching experience.
  • Experience working with children.


Please note that this role will require that you become registered as self-employed and to be on the DBS update service.

If you are not already on the DBS update service, a new DBS will be needed.

£20.00-£50.00 per hour
