The post holder will actively be involved in providing direct and indirect compassionate care for women and their babies and be a key member of the WREN team providing vital support to women throughout the perinatal period.

To provide an effective and comprehensive range of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the PNMH service.

To create and maintain effective working relationships at all levels, internal and external to the Trust, which relate to Royal Cornwall NHS Foundation Trust.


The post holder will be expected to practice in accordance within Trust policies, guidelines, standards and statutory requirements and operate within defined competency boundaries.


Communication:


You will have working relationships with the midwifery and multi-disciplinary teams and will play an important role in the lives of the people you support, as well as their families or loved ones.


Patient Confidentiality:


Working within the trust you may gain knowledge of confidential matters which may include personal and medical information about patients and staff.

Such information must be considered strictly confidential and must not be discussed or disclosed. Failure to observe this confidentiality could lead to disciplinary action being taken against you.

Physical Skills:

Evidence of relevant experience to support this role.

Information Technology/System Utilisation:

Regularly utilise Trust Information Systems such as Maxims for the creation of correspondence, reports and other documents. Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Maternity Euroking system.

Mandatory Training/Development Review:

Attend corporate induction, participate and complete ongoing mandatory training including attendance at mandatory training sessions as directed. Participate in the Performance Development Review process (appraisal) in line with National and Trust Policies. All employees have a duty to attend all mandatory training sessions as required by the Trust. Any other general requirements as appropriate to the post and location.

We are now looking for enthusiastic a Perinatal Mental Health Support worker to join our fabulous team to support our vision.

Support the PNMH midwives as decided by the duty PNMH midwife


Provide women and their families with information on the parent and infant relationship to optimise parent and infant mental health.

To escalate areas of concern from women to the appropriate manager.

Provide support overseen by the PNMH midwife.


Support with core parenting, caring for baby etc taking pressure off of midwives on the wards as women under the PNMH team often take additional time and resource.

Core parenting sessions in the home.
