Job Summary

Exploring the world of fungi, we aim to revolutionize their study through genetic identification. Join us in sequencing lichen genomes to enhance understanding of these species.

The Curatorial Assistant will play a key role in supporting this groundbreaking project, collaborating with experts to document and analyze lichen specimens accurately.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Locate and document type specimens within the lichen collection
  • Database management and record verification
  • Imaging lichen specimens following digitization procedures
  • Assist in DNA sampling and research protocols
  • Conduct research on specimen types

Person Specification

  • Passionate about natural history with an interest in botany
  • Experience in curating natural history collections
  • Attention to detail in handling delicate objects
  • Adherence to protocols and strong computer skills
  • Proficiency in database management and collections digitization
  • Effective teamwork and stakeholder collaboration
