Job overview

Applications are invited for two enthusiastic and dynamic Consultant Dermatologist to join our well established and expanding department. This is a replacement post for a general dermatologist and is ideally suited for someone with or wishing to develop a specialist interest eg patch testing, autoimmune disease, vulval dermatoses, complex surgery / Mohs micrographic surgery. It is anticipated that this post will be for 10 programmed activities per week. However, we would be happy to interview applicants wishing to work part time or in a job share.

Main duties of the job

The new appointees are expected to have a broad-based dermatology background to help deliver general dermatology, paediatric dermatology and skin cancer services. However, the jobs are flexible and can be tailored to include an individual's area of interest including Mohs micrographic surgery for those with expertise in this area.

Person specification

Education, Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria

MBBS or equivalent GMC registerable qualifications and MRCP all parts CCT/CESR in Dermatology

Desirable criteria

Higher degree PhD or MD or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria

General training in Dermatology specialist level or equivalent Subspecialist Skills Ability to make decisions at Consultant level Skin cancer complex surgical skills

Clinical and Technical skills

Essential criteria

Good written English Knowledge of the organisation of the NHS and the Government's agenda for its modernisation. Full GMC Registration Full Driving Licence and regular access to a car

PPE requirements: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust requires all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.
