This role is in the Communications and Reputation team, which is responsible for enhancing the reputation of the University and communicating effectively with stakeholders including staff, students, local community, businesses, research partners, the media and policymakers.


Staff are a critical stakeholder group and communications to / with them are managed by an Internal Communications team, with support from local internal communications professionals or champions embedded in colleges and professional services divisions.

Aligned to the People and Culture strategic pillar, the team is part way through delivery of a new internal communications strategy and framework designed to improve employee knowledge of and engagement with important news, developments and initiatives.


Role Summary
This role supports the internal communications team in the delivery of the internal communications strategy. You will devise and deliver activities and provide administrative support on a wide range of projects, events and communications. You will also be involved in producing high-quality and engaging copy, content, events, and digital developments.

Main duties

  • Maintain a detailed project plan to ensure oversight of all key tasks and milestones
  • Provide administrative support across the full suite of internal communications activities
  • Book, brief, attend and take minutes at meetings
  • Support internal events, including from planning to delivery
  • Support the internal communications manager with writing, editing, proofing copy, securing approval for and disseminating comms
  • Support the internal communications manager with producing video content aimed at engaging internal stakeholders
  • Support the internal communications manager in the creation and ongoing management of an annual internal communications content plan
  • Support the internal communications team's contribution to the intranet, including a platform migration project, and ongoing management of internal news pages
  • Monitor and respond to enquiries in the internal communications inbox and Teams channel
  • Provide advice and support to colleagues across the university on brand compliance for internal communications materials
