Who are we?

X-Academy is an energy transition jobs accelerator with a singular focus on delivering jobs and inclusive employment across the energy industry.

We work in partnership with governments, the private and public sectors to deliver the renewable energy workforce of tomorrow by creating suitable and sustainable green jobs today.

Launched in January 2022, as a not-for-profit subsidiary of Xodus, we have had a highly successful and award winning first two years, and we are growing to continue delivering our mission through 2024 and beyond.

Our vision is to continue the growth of X-Academy through enabling individuals to bring their best selves to work on real-life, meaningful, and impactful energy projects.

As an Xccelerator you will embark on a two-year programme within X-Academy where you will learn and develop the core behavioural, professional, and technical skills that are needed to meet global energy targets and limit global warming.

Xccelerators are guided by an experienced and passionate leadership team who play a key role in delivering the programme mission, as well as working closely with the wider Xodus organisation and industry partners.

Over the course of 2 years, your development will encompass technical/commercial project experience and dedicated training covering technical, professional, and behavioural competencies.

The programme is designed with an emphasis towards "on the job" or "experiential learning"

You may:

  • Work alongside experienced Xodus professionals on client facing energy projects which reduce emissions and accelerate efforts towards net zero. Projects can be related to commercial scale offshore wind, other renewables and exciting energy hub concepts, hydrogen and decarbonisation initiatives. Also, the opportunity for longer term placements within Xodus teams exists.
  • Have the opportunity to go on secondment/placement to external organisations where not only will you gain technical experience, but you will get firsthand, exposure to projects, professional standards and behaviours in companies at the forefront of the energy transition.


Alongside carrying out project work you will receive dedicated training in professional, commercial, and technical skills, with the autonomy to identify specific areas of interest which you feel will benefit your career and fit with your future aspirations.

You will benefit from X-Academy being part of the wider Xodus organisation, being fully involved in knowledge sharing sessions, technical presentations and informal lunch and learn style meetings, all delivered by leading experts in industry.
