In a nutshell


Leveraging our unique Sainsbury's and Nectar brand assets, you'll have a strategic opportunity to shape customer and brand focused propositions for Sainsbury's Bank to drive business growth, brand metrics and customer advocacy.


You'll develop and design customer and brand propositions including incentives and reward mechanisms, that drive the right outcomes and values.


You'll work closely with Nectar, Sainsbury's, Data & Insights, Commercial and Brand teams to ensure that new and existing propositions are fit for purpose and are aligned to growing and deepening relationships with loyal Sainsbury's and Nectar shoppers.


You'll also work with key stakeholders across Sainsbury's Bank and Argos Financial Services, and the wider Sainsbury's Group, to ensure that we make best use of Nectar as a customer reward mechanism and an enhancement to our propositions.


You'll manage the Nectar points budgets; design, deliver and innovate appropriate customer rewards; test and identify 'best practice' approaches; ensure the rewards offered to customers adhere to our defined strategy; and ensure that the intended customer reward outcomes are delivered.

This should be achieved in the context of delivering cost and process efficiencies through better productivity and use of new technology.


What you'll be doing

  • Developing new customer and brand propositions to support the acquisition and growth of loyal Sainsbury's and Nectar customers.
  • Leading business cases to support the development of new propositions.
  • Working across key stakeholders to ensure new propositions are embedded effectively in communications and customer journeys.
  • Working closely with the Marketing team to understand customer profiles and transactional behaviour of customer segments, and underserved customers. You'll also work with Product Management and Channels to identify opportunities to enhance existing propositions to optimise participation or develop new propositions, to fill portfolio gaps.
  • Working with Sainsbury's in the provision and development of propositions that support the Bank as a whole.
  • Taking a test, learn, and refine approach to activity, ensuring that industry practice is captured, stored and shared.
  • Working collaboratively with our wider Customer colleagues on proposition developments, to ensure key product features and commercial drivers are embedded in the development and proposal process.
  • Supporting the definition of the Customer Rewards strategy across the full line of Sainsbury's Bank products and customers, focusing on increasing lifetime loyalty among Sainsbury's shoppers.
  • Drive the endtoend fulfilment of rewards earned by customers, ensuring the correct customer outcomes are achieved.
  • Managing our Nectar points budgets, ensuring budgets are monitored, reforecast, and allocated appropriately. You'll work with Sainsbury's Marketing and Finance teams to ensure Group visibility of budgeting and points issuance.

What you need to know and show

  • Experience in Financial Services, specifically in defining customer reward and contact strategies.
  • Experience of proposition development.
  • Ability to develop customercentric experiences.
  • Ability to take business, brand and customer data and insights, transforming it into actionable propositions that make a difference to our customers, business and brand.
  • Strong stakeholder management and experience of influencing up to a senior level. You'll have exceptional communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with anyone in any environment, translating complex/technical issues to meet your audience's competency level.
