Job description


A reputable long-standing Property Management Company, dealing mostly in residential block management, in Kingston upon Thames is seeking a Bookkeeper / Accountant to join their client accounts team dealing with ground rents and service charges.

Working hours are Monday - Friday

Duties and responsibilities include:
Posting income and expenditure from bank statements.

Reconciling service charge accounts.

Paying contractor invoices.

Raising periodic service charge demands and any other charges due and sending them to lessees

Preparing income & expenditure reports and sending these to clients

Preparation of annual service charge budgets, liaising with clients and Property Managers.

Preparing service charge year end accounts

Liaising with external accountants and agreeing draft accounts with clients

Meeting deadlines on budgets, sending out charges and preparing year end accounts.

Responding to and managing queries from leaseholders

Supporting Property Managers with any account related queries

Personal requirements:

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Well organised with good common sense.

A friendly and polite approach to clients and a helpful attitude to colleagues.

Previous experience in an accounts role essential.

Previous experience in property accounting (rental, ground rent, service charges, etc) is preferable but not essential.


This opportunity would ideally suit someone who is careful and numerate, with good computer skills and who enjoys taking tasks through to completion within a stated time frame.

They would also need to be able to work on their own, taking full responsibilityfor their own properties, but with the support of the Head of Accounts and other colleagues when needed.

Salary 25k - 45k depending on experience
