Oxfordshire Children's Integrated Therapy Service is a friendly and supportive team which will offer you opportunities for clinical support and for further development of your skills through a range of training opportunities.

We are part of a Children's Integrated Therapy Service - Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy.

We work closely with both health and education colleagues for example Health Visitors, Paediatricians, School Health Nurses and Specialist Advisory Teachers for Early Years and Communication and Interaction.

We also have close links with members of the team based at the John Radcliffe Hospital where the regional cleft palate and cochlear implant teams are based.


We currently have the following post available:
BAND 4 0.6 WTE sessions available (22.5 hours a week), Childrens Therapy Assistant Practitioner Physiotherapy supporting Children's Physiotherapy

You will be covering the Oxford and North East of the County.

You will work with and be supported by Physiotherapists.

You will:

  • Work as a Childrens Therapy Assistant Practitioner Physiotherapy with Physiotherapists to work on physiotherapy programmes/ targets with children who have a range of complex needs.
  • Support the running of training sessions and will be involved in preparation of materials and resources as well as other administrative tasks. Computer skills would be an advantage for note writing, making communication books and caseload management.
  • Support children with complex needs with their equipment, physical needs and communication development.
  • Work in a variety of locations and settings so an ability to travel between locations is essential.
  • Have experience of working in a Schools, Nurseries, home visiting or other child focused learning environment.
  • Look after a caseload under the support of the Therapists, work closely with Therapists and colleagues within Education.
An enthusiastic and flexible approach is important, and good computer skills are essential.

Induction and ongoing training will be provided to develop your skills further and equip you for this exciting role.


You will have excellent support from Physiotherapists and other Childrens Therapy Assistant Practitioner Physiotherapy within the Service and opportunities for further development.


You will be working in a variety of locations and settings in Oxfordshire so an ability to travel between locations is essential.
