Protocol education is working on behalf of a secondary school based in Lambeth, to assist in seeking a Pastoral Support assistant.

The individual will work closely with students in providing guidance and emotional support to help them navigate through the challenges of adolescence.

Working closely with students, parents and teacher, the Pastoral support will ensure the well-being and personal development of students.

Responsibilities of a Pastoral Support Assistant:

  • Build relationships with students, offering a supportive and empathetic environment for their concerns and challenges.
  • Provide 1:1 or group sessions, helping students address, personal, social, or behavioural issues affecting their academic performance.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to identify students in need of additional support.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing them with regular updates on their child's progress.
  • Organise parent workshop sessions on topics related to student wellbeing and development.

About you

  • You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of adolescent development and strategies for supporting students' emotional wellbeing.
  • You will have a desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of secondary school students.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
