About the Economist/Senior Economist role
We are seeking a passionate Economist or Senior Economist to join our growing team in Oxford, working on diverse macroeconomic projects for clients in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
- Opportunity to work on economic forecasting, scenario analysis, and model development
- Participate in two or three research projects simultaneously
- Involved in projects lasting two to six months, culminating in reports and client presentations
Under the guidance of an Associate Director, you will be responsible for technical tasks, report drafting, and client communication. As you progress, you will take on project management and client interaction.
This role allows you to engage with a diverse client base across EMEA and various sectors, with potential for international travel. Strong client management skills are crucial for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead specific project aspects, conducting economic analysis
- Utilize quantitative techniques for data analysis
- Work with the Oxford Global Model for forecasting
- Manage client relationships effectively
- Collaborate on research proposals and reports
- Plan and coordinate project tasks
- Mentor junior team members
- Identify new business opportunities
Skills and Experience
Requirements:
- Master's degree in economics or related field
- Strong communication skills
- Deep understanding of macroeconomics
- Experience in economic analysis and report writing
- Proficiency in Excel, EViews, and Stata
- Proactive approach to client inquiries
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Desirable:
- Experience with macroeconomic models
- Knowledge of international trade and financial sectors
