The Role
As Professional Conduct and Ethics Executive, you will facilitate the Code of Conduct and Ethics functions of the CIPD. You will support the Code of Conduct team with investigations and complaints.

You will also facilitate the work to support members with ethical practice, maximising insights and contributing to improving the performance and capability of CIPD Members.


What You'll Be Doing

Code of Conduct and ethics

  • Conduct hearings: preparing bundles; taking notes/minutes; drafting Hearing reports; executing sanctions.
  • Researching potential CIPD complaints for presentation to CIPD Designated Officers.
  • Case Officer role: presenting the findings and recommendations of investigation panels at a Hearing to a Conduct Panel on behalf of the CIPD.
  • Managing the inbox; managing case files and tracker; volunteer recruitment; volunteer management & training.
  • Benchmarking: identifying and flagging improvements to business processes and systems and assist in implementing improvements.
  • Management of the pool of volunteers that support the Code of Conduct work including the recruitment, induction and ongoing training for all as well as performance management in line with the volunteer strategy and organisational needs. Facilitating resources and processes enabling the volunteers to support the Code of Conduct work including digitising of processes and tools.

Ethics

  • Supporting online forum for ethical dilemmas: managing the functionality and development of the forum, working with internal colleagues and stakeholders; monitoring and analysing the dilemmas raised, escalating where appropriate.
  • Insights: collation and analysis of statistics & insights from the Code of Conduct cases and online forum, developing case studies and materials; coordinating & supporting ethics events & focus groups; development & issue of surveys; working with internal teams.
  • Ethical dilemma bank: developing and maintaining an ethical dilemma bank.
  • Web content and literature: monitoring and updating ethics pages of the CIPD website & WDIC.

What You'll Need To Be Successful

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Regulatory experience or disciplinary and investigation experience.
  • Legal and or governance knowledge/experience.
  • Experience working in the HR profession and CIPD qualified to identify insights from the Code of Conduct cases and contribute to development of emerging practice.
  • Ability to manage relationships effectively and with influence. You will need to be diplomatic and confident working across a wide range of stakeholders with the ability to establish and maintain credibility and to deal with highly sensitive situations and challenging customers.
  • Organisational and project management skills, with the ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
