Role - Manufacturing Excellence Lead

Type - Permanent

Location - Blackgrange (Alloa, Scotland) & surrounding sites, including travel to Glasgow

Maturation South is part of Diageo's Scotch Manufacturing Group. This permanent role will be focused on driving an integrated continuous improvement programme across Maturation by implementing TRACC.

This position is part of the wider Scotch Manufacturing Excellence team and at times the role holder may be required to support activities at other sites.

The purpose of the role is to support operations teams within Maturation to improve performance and standards through Continuous Improvement, facilitate CI projects, to be the training facilitator for practices, to promote Manufacturing excellence within Maturation

As part of the Scotch Manex team to input to standards development, support

the activities of the wider team, in particular sharing best practices.

Other key accountabilities include:

  • Actively promoting and driving the implementation of manufacturing excellence practices across maturation and cask storage sites
  • Closely monitoring and reporting performance and practice progress within department
  • Ensuring manufacturing excellence is optimised to support and assess the change process
  • Ensuring everyone in department understands what manufacturing excellence means and are engaged in the TRACC system process
  • Ensuring that any improvements implemented are standardised and sustained within operations teams
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to communicate to all levels across the plant
  • Experience working in a process environment with evidence to demonstrate ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders and cross functional teams to deliver organisational effectiveness and improved business performance
  • A proven track record of utilising manufacturing excellence tools and techniques such as autonomous maintenance, 5s, Asset Care, focussed improvement techniques & set-up time reduction
  • To have or be willing to work towards a NEBOSH and a qualification in Brewing & Distilling qualification however this is not crucial.
