Job Title: Heating Design Engineer

The Company: An innovative Heating Systems Development and Quality Engineer is required by this expanding heating systems company to maintain and further develop their existing and new products and systems. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who can offer a technical understanding of theoretical and practical mechanical and electrical systems, including heating, plumbing or HVAC systems.

Job Description:

  • Quality Control: Focus on existing product improvement - 35%
  • New Product Innovation: Developing new low temperature, low carbon solutions - 25%
  • Documentation Updates: Utilizing Adobe Illustrator & InDesign - 25%
  • Material Cost Down Work: Identifying cost-effective alternatives - 10%
  • 2D/3D CAD Design Work: Engage in design tasks - 5%

Full training will be provided, with a key emphasis on the ability to test and customize systems according to requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to project work under the company's New Product Development (NPD) program
  • Explore potential manufacturers/suppliers for product supply
  • Enhance product and process quality through identifying areas for improvement
  • Conduct product/performance testing when necessary
  • Ensure accuracy in schematic system design drawings and apply engineering theory correctly, particularly in UFH, heat pump, and solar thermal system design calculations
  • Develop technical documentation as needed
  • Support product training across company departments

Preferred Skills: An Engineering Graduate (preferably Mechanical) with a solid technical understanding of mechanical engineering, including fluid mechanics, heat pumps, and solar thermal systems. Proficiency in applied mathematics and ICT, with some knowledge of engineering-related programming and 3D drawing software.

Personal Attributes: Attention to detail, strong communication skills, independent work ethic, and ability to collaborate in team settings.

Associated Benefits: Performance Related Bonus (up to 2% of salary), matched pension contributions (up to 3%), 23 days holiday (increasing with tenure), bank holidays, 10% membership discount for LED leisure facilities.

Working Hours: 8.30am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
