We are looking for a Court Usher to join the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) team at Lincoln Crown Court. This position is perfect for those who are highly motivated, possess good communications skills, and have prior experience in customer service. Pay Rate: £11.44 per hour


Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. Temporary contract with the possibility of extension based on business needs.



Role Overview: As a Court Usher, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the Lincoln-based MOJ. This is a diverse and engaging position where you will be involved in various tasks.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in court proceedings
  • Escort the jury panel
  • Handle general administrative tasks such as photocopying and mail
  • Ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for court attendees
  • Provide judges with essential supplies like papers and pens


Requirements:

  • Basic IT skills, with training provided for Microsoft Windows
  • Prior experience in administrative/customer service roles is a must
  • Law graduates with strong customer service abilities are welcome
  • Display politeness and helpfulness towards both external and internal customers
  • Stay calm, polite, and tactful in challenging situations
  • Communicate important information clearly and promptly
  • Be approachable, respectful, and maintain confidentiality
