Procurement Lead to provide strategic procurement and supply chain management support to our Rail business unit sector.


Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Procurement Lead will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement and supply chain activities for a key high profile highways project being delivered on behalf of one of our key clients.

The primary objective of the role is to design, compile and execute the Project Procurement Plan (PPP), working closely with the project teams to ensure the delivery of commercial opportunities and lead to positive and sustainable outcomes in accordance with the requirements of the contract and our key business targets.

You'll be working on. (what your role and responsibility is)

  • Develop, implement and track performance/delivery of the PPP in collaboration with the project commercial and delivery teams
  • Compile the procurement schedule for all plant, materials, equipment and subcontract requirements for the project, ensuring the schedule is linked to the main construction programme
  • Responsible for mapping out the project supply base and lead strategic engagement with the supply chain across all expenditure categories
  • Manage procurement of key materials, plant and equipment specific to the project through robust RFQ processes, negotiation, recommendation and contract / supply chain management
  • Establish performanceled, long term supplier relationships focusing on value for money, service & product quality, and continuous improvement

  • Comprehensive experience and delivery of P&SCM for large scale projects £50m+
  • Experience in civils / construction / infrastructure market sectors desired
  • Full competency and management skill levels in the use and management of ERP systems (COINS, SAP, Oracle or similar)
  • MCIPS / Degree Qualified or breadth and depth of work experience equivalent to qualification
  • Track record of improving supply chain engagement, development, and key performance
  • Knowledge of industry legislative, regulatory, and standards environment
