Our client based in St.

Neots are seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant / Legal Cashier to join them in a permanent position, based on skills and experience the salary is approx £30k, its a 35 hour working week and ideally you will have had a role of this nature in another Legal Firm and be used to SRA rules to be considered for this role.

Senior Accounts Assistant / Legal CashierOur client in St. Neots are seeking a Senior Legal Cashier in their St Neots office. Previous experience of working in a Legal Firm in a financial/legal cashier role would be advantageous.

The successful candidate's duties would include:

  • Being responsible for day to day running of the accounts department and providing general assistance to the Practice Manager and Assistant Legal Cashier, with whom you will work closely.

Dealing with the firm's banking on a daily basis by banking monies and cheques received; writing outgoing cheques and sending CHAPS and Faster payments; dealing with incoming electronic payments; balancing the cash books and carrying out the bank reconciliation.

Reconciling purchase and sale statements in preparation of send funds externally.
Dealing with the firm's cash flow and liaising with the partner in charge of finances.
Providing the rota for reception cover duties.
Keeping holiday records and arranging the authorisation of annual leave.
Assisting with the maintenance of archived files and dealing with stored wills and deeds when required.
Any additional duties for the efficient running of the office as required from time to time.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Numeracy skills, through either educational achievement or previous employment.
A willingness to accept the responsibility that comes with managing the finances of the business.
An understanding of the importance of confidentiality in relation to both the firm's clients and the firm's finances.
