Our client is delivering a large infrastructure project as part of the 8-year multi-disciplinary rail and civils scheme which is located in Birmingham.

Responsible for developing and maintaining an integrated baseline encompassing scope, time, cost, risk, and quality, and monitoring project and contract performance.

Also accountable for coordinating project controls activities within the supply chain to ensure the accuracy and quality of captured cost, risk, and schedule information.

Analyse submitted data and reports to provide insights and trends on performance and risks, facilitating decision-making processes.

Additionally, oversee the correlation of schedule, cost, quality, and risk to drive efficient program delivery, while managing performance and analysing cost data capture systems.

Manage risks within a designated development or delivery area of the integrated Programme, leveraging expertise from specialists to address project delays, issues, and challenges.

Coordinate the change management process, ensuring effective assessment and management of impacts to the baseline.

Manage the assurance of Project Controls Data, ensuring adherence to PMO and Project Controls policies, processes, and standards within a designated development or delivery area of the overall Programme.

Provide functional line management, performance management, and objective setting support to direct reports.

Actively promote and integrate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles, supporting and complying with organisational initiatives, policies, and procedures on EDI.

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification

  • Proven experience in project controls, project management, or related roles within the Rail sector.
  • Strong proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Power Bi Microsoft Project, Excel).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful insights.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of the core Project Controls disciplines, including; Schedule Management, Cost Management, Change Management and Risk Management
  • Knowledge of the Project and Commercial Management principles including understanding of cost delivery, schedule targets
  • Understanding of NEC contracts, amendments, early warning notices and the work-flows of communications between contractor and client
A minimum of 10 Years experience in project controls on major projects/programmes including the management of multi-discipline project controls teams

  • Experience in the core project controls functions, including; baseline maintenance, schedule management, cost performance, change management, risk management and performance reporting
  • Experienced in the management and control of key Project Controls systems (e.g. Power BI. Primavera P6, Prism, Project Wise, CEMAR, XACTIUM
  • Experience of managing and/or influencing governance forums including project change and investment boards with delegated decision-making powers of multi-millions of pounds #J-18808-Ljbffr
