Job Purpose:


The Governance & Conduct Risk Lead role is a strategic position responsible for the overall governance and administrative activities of the EMEA BCMA Risk & Control team as well as assisting in the Conduct Risk programme for BCMA globally.


This key role supports the EMEA Head of In-Business Risk & Control who is also the Global BCMA Delegated Oversight Executive for the Conduct Risk programme.

The role will manage the day-to-day Conduct Risk activities, governance submissions, as well as assist in the ongoing implementation of an effective Conduct Risk programme.


Communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to collaborate, guide and influence others both within BCMA and in other first and second line areas.


BCMA Business Risk Management:


The Business Risk Management team supports and promotes a robust control environment within the Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), ensuring that all applicable internal policies and external regulations are adopted through effective and sustainable processes.


The team sits within the 1st line of defence and provides direct oversight over the key operational and conduct risks of the business by overseeing processes and controls related to transaction approvals (conflicts clearance, committee approvals, engagement procedures), Information Management (data surveillance, wall crossing procedures), client monitoring (anti-money laundering, KYC, Anti-bribery &Corruption) and overall employee supervision and training.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and update of BCMA materials for governance forums (e.g., quarterly governance committee, submissions for BCMA to other governance committees) and draft meeting minutes
  • Leverage technology and tools to enable the tracking and dissemination of key control metrics in a clear and consistent fashion within BCMA
  • Manage and execute quarterly reporting processes, attestations and related questionnaires
  • Oversee complaints management process
  • Maintenance of BCMA Business Risk & Control Intranet site
  • Draft communications for the awareness messaging of Conduct Risk, culture and control topics
  • Assist in the coordination and management of internal and external reviews, issue remediation, and other administrative needs
  • Assist in strategic initiatives in partnership with the senior management team of BCMA, other ICG In Business Risk and Control groups as well as 2nd and 3rd Line partners
  • Development and maintenance of BCMA owned Conduct Risk related procedure documents
  • Develop training materials and manage the delivery of training to BCMA staff on key regulatory, policy or process changes

- relevant work experience in an auditing, risk management or another oversight, monitoring function in the Financial Industry

  • Previous experience in corporate/investment banking and/or capital markets is a plus
  • Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of strategy and process improvement initiatives
