St Albans, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are pleased to advertise vacancies for qualified High Intensity CBT Therapists (HITs) in our quadrant teams which includes St Albans & Hemel Hempstead; Watford & Borehamwood; Ware, Welwyn & Hatfield; Stevenage.

The role is within the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT). The HITs work within the team providing CBT to people experiencing common mental health problems.

Our services focus on delivering high quality therapy, being amongst the highest performers in the region, finishing the year (2020/2021) and preceding years with recovery rates exceeding the national target of 50%.

We run innovative groups for our clients such as Perinatal, Older adults and LTCs. We pride ourselves on the support we offer staff & provide an extensive programme of CPD.

The Wellbeing Team was one of the first IAPT services in the UK to achieve accreditation status with the Accreditation Programme for Psychological Therapies Services (APPTS).

As well as identifying and acknowledging services that have high standards, APPTS, a partnership between the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Centre for Quality Improvement and the British Psychological Society, provides a network through which best practice can be shared.

This is a fantastic achievement which provides recognition nationally of the Wellbeing Team as a high quality service.

HPFT is also rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC, who praised our staff for their motivated and caring approach to their work.

The post holder will be part of an Improving Access to Psychological
Therapies (IAPT) service and will provide high intensity interventions - initially cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

The post holder will work with clients who have a range of common mental health problems such as Anxiety and Depression related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.

The High Intensity Therapist will take the lead role in providing support, education and problem solving skills to the GPs and primary health care team particularly in the areas of assessment and management of mental health problems.

We are able to consider part time, flexible and hybrid working requests.

For all posts, the Trust operates a robust Continuing Professional Development system within a Performance Management framework, including an annual appraisal and CPD review.

There may be external training opportunities, which include the following:
EMDR, IPT, Counselling for Depression, Couple Therapy for Depression, Behavioural Couples Therapy and DIT.

Some of our quadrants attract payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary.

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is an outstanding organisation with ambitions to match.

We are one of just five mental health trusts to achieve an overall rating of 'Outstanding' from the Care Quality Commission, and our aim is to be the leading provider of mental health and specialist learning disability services in the country.

Our family of over 3500 members of staff provide health and social care for over 400,000 people with mental ill health, physical ill health and learning disabilities across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Norfolk, delivering these services within the community and several inpatient settings.

We also deliver a range of nationally commissioned specialist services including Tier 4 services for children and young people, perinatal services, plus medium and low secure learning disabilities services.

The care we provide makes a fantastic difference to the lives of our service users, their families and carers - everything is underpinned by choice, independence and equality, with our Trust values embedded throughout:
