Strictly no agenciesAn excellent opportunity for a Professional Services Consultant to join this leading supplier of managed IT, unified communications and print services to the SME and charitable sectors.

4th Platform are seeking a pre-sales professional with experience in customer
  • facing role
s who has knowledge of managed IT services with the ability to scope and design complex technical solutions.

You will be experienced in an IT Solutions / MSP sales environment, and with a demonstrable knowledge of and enthusiasm for the current SME ICT infrastructure and associated issues and opportunities.

You will be able to lead the debate with your customers and prospects to architect and propose appropriate solutions at the conceptual level based on the company's portfolio of services and products, which you manage through the sales cycle to handover to the project delivery team.

The role is one which offers the opportunity for someone with an empathy for their industry to bring a consultative approach to their customers and prospects.


What the role entails
Some of the main duties of the Professional Services Consultant include:

  • Meeting with customers and prospects to agree their requirements and outline solutions at the conceptual level
  • Providing professional advice and support towards winning new business; to include bids, proposals, contract negotiations and presentations.
  • Proactively supporting the salesforce throughout the sales cycle from presales negotiations to handover to the project delivery team.
  • Analysing and documenting the client's technical infrastructure and operating environment.
  • On behalf of the sales force, obtaining pricing for specified software solutions, including completion of all relevant paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintaining and providing advanced and uptodate knowledge, market awareness and advice relating to software solutions portfolios, including trends, changes and new products.

What you need to be the successful Professional Services Consultant**Person specification:
  • Experience in a customer
  • facing role
  • Experience of designing complex solutions
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to develop consultative benefitsled proposals for the salesforce
  • Prior experience in a technical solutions/managed IT or print environment
  • Ability to use own initiative to work without supervision, but also be able to work in a team as required
  • Experience with relevant infrastructure concepts and products, eg Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, LAN design, security services such as WatchGuard, etc
  • Previous experience working in a Presales environment with a software solutions background
