Our Engineering client based in Birkenhead is looking for an experienced HR Advisor for short term cover.

Role:

To be the day to day HR contact for all employees on the Birkenhead site. Prepare the monthly payroll, provide accurate data at all times, adhering to deadlines. Support the full employee life cycle including completion of all HR administrative duties, and HR reporting. Provide HR support to Line Managers and employees. Support positive employee relations.

Key Duties & Tasks:

Prepare monthly payroll data, in line with payroll deadlines.

Proactively work with Managers on Recruitment & Selection ensuring the business attracts, recruits and retains talent and has the appropriate resources. Provide HR support for interviews - manage recruitment process.

Prepare contracts of employment.

First point of contact for advice on absence, capability, grievance & disciplinary issues.

Support & coach Managers in all aspects of HR policies, procedures and employment law.

Organise and attend absence management review meetings, in line with policy.

Attend and take minutes at disciplinary and investigatory meetings.

Work with Managers to determine training needs of each department.

Collate training needs information from appraisals.

Maintain training records.

Maintain Workday HRIS system.

Maintain electronic time and attendance system.

Administration of HR processes such as starters, leavers, absence (RTWIs), pay reviews, recruitment.

Prepare HR data for monthly reporting.

Book Occupational Health appointments.

Maintain employee files.

Manage the Apprenticeship Programme, utilise the apprenticeship levy.

Support HR "Change Projects" as required.

General:

Maintain awareness and knowledge of employment legislation.

Adhere at all times to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.

Maintain the confidentiality and trust of the HR department.

Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities.

Requirements

  • CIPD level 3( Essential)
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English Language and Maths ( Essential)
  • CIPD Level 7 ( Desirable)
  • Mental Health Awareness training ( Desirable)

Essential Experience

  • Payroll experience.
  • Operational HR experience.
  • Data management and HR reporting.
  • Ability to adhere to strict reporting deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Commercially/legally aware.
  • Good grounding in supporting employees and positive Employee Relations.
  • Good understanding of UK employment law. Good understanding of employee engagement.
  • Ability to support and coach managers.
  • Recruitment and Selection experience.
  • General understanding of Health and Safety legislation
  • Ability to extract salient points from written or oral statements.
  • Ability to write clear and concise English.
  • Numerate and accurate.
  • Sound IT skills, particularly Excel.
  • HRIS experience.
