Hours

  • Lunchtime, evenings & weekend
There are two site requiring relief frying Hayling Island and Westbourne Emsworth

  • Hours Required Approx. 30+ hours per week frying/ Approx. 10 hours per week counter assistant across both sites may also be required
  • Hours will vary and increase from spring to summer peak season
  • Additional hours for covering other shifts in the event of staff sickness/holiday will be required on an add hoc basis

Your job will involve duel role responsibilities:

Relief Frying - Frying Pay Rate; £7.79 to £10.64 per hour (depending on age/experience)

Accommodation:
Double bedroom, self contained chalet becomes available on exiting relief fryer. (bills not included)

  • Preparing and cooking Product to order of exceptional standard and consistency
  • Stock control; checking quality, rotation with permanent reign over stock usage/wastage and critical portion control
  • Cleanliness, adhering to health and safety requirements and performed to first class 5 star EHO standards
  • Coordinate & motivate staff, coaching, inspiring and leading by example
  • Friendly and professional approach to customers and your team, especially under pressure
  • H&S, HACCP and COSSH & environmental health records are maintained to highest standard
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Cashing up and locking up
  • Additional requirement to cover planned holidays for manager

Counter Assistant Cover

  • Customer service, talking to customers on the phone, taking orders politely and thanking customers
  • Till operation inputting orders accurately
  • Packing & serving food, checking each order is fulfilled quickly and accurately
  • Selling meal deals and side orders to increase trade
  • Opening and closing duties carried out (e.g. replenish packaging materials, check salt and vinegar etc)
  • Cleaning duties carried out to very high standard as per cleaning list and using your own initiative to clean as you go
  • Checking dates and date labelling correctly on refrigerated food
  • Clean and presentable at all times in line with food hygiene standards and those in line with government guidance for COVID 1
  • The company will provide you induction training and it is mandatory to make sure you have read and fully understand the health and safety, food hygiene and various advisory charts around the premises. Anything you don't understand you must ask the manager
  • Punctuality and arrival a few minutes early if you need to get changed in order to start shift on time
  • Attend various training sessions, some are legal requirements, others are for your personal development

Required experience:

  • No formal education required but any catering training would be advantageous
  • Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate
  • Proficient in SFBB, HACCP & COSSH
  • At least 1+ year proven experience relief frying 1st class quality product at high volumes
  • References may be requested after interviews and would be advantageous

COVID-19 considerations:
You will be debriefed on working safely during time of COVID 19 (cleaning duties, hand washing, reporting symptoms etc). Face masks are no longer mandatory but are optional if you choose to wear one
