Job Description:
- As the Provenance Specialist you'll provide support to the Provenance Lead in managing Pipeline Integrity for De Beers Provenance Programmes (Forevermark, Code of Origin, DBJ Suppliers of DTC Diamonds, Tracr and DTC Melee) (diamond tracing and tracking) and works closely with both internal and external stakeholders. The role will also support special projects and due diligence to support initiatives that identify and address ethical and sustainable risks to the diamond jewellery value/supply chain.
Pipeline Integrity Standards
- Contributes proactively to the development and evolution of the Pipeline Integrity Standard for De Beers' strategic Provenance Programmes:
- Forevermark
- Code of Origin
- De Beers Jewellers Suppliers of DTC Diamonds
- Tracr
- DTC Melee
- Undertakes research to better understand emerging or evolving issues and makes recommendations on mitigation options.
- Undertakes analysis to review unintended consequences and impacts of new proposed standards or evolution to standards.
Pipeline Integrity Implementation
- Supports the management of the implementation and administration of the Pipeline Integrity Standard for all relevant pipeline integrity entities for De Beers' strategic Provenance Programmes as above.
- Supports the relationship management of the thirdparty auditor through regular contact.
- Engages with internal Account Managers as needed.
SMART System Management of Pipeline Integrity Requirements
- Implements the Pipeline Integrity requirements within the BPP SMART System.
- Requires engagement with service providers, internal and external stakeholders and users of the system
- Leads on the management of the process endtoend from Discover and Envision through to Delivery of Requirements including:
- Stakeholder engagement
- Testing and monitoring
- Reporting
- Project management resources, delivery timeframes
Due Diligence
- Manages the implementation and administration of the due diligence initiatives with relevant participants and business units.
- Manages good relations and clear communication with the relevant business units and the BPP Team on due diligence requirements, outcomes and makes recommendations on findings for decisionmakers.
Special Projects:
- Undertakes special projects as required.
- Qualifications
- Project management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills is essential
- A good understanding of due diligence requirements for counterparties, both in the context of antimoney laundering as well as reputational and ethical integrity.
- Knowledge of the De Beers value chain, the diamond industry, its composition, key and emerging risks and relevant players is an advantage.
- Previous experience of the diamond industry including practical diamond skills both rough and polished an advantage
- Knowledge of business principles is essential
- Numerate with good presentation skills
- Knowledge of local business practices in the major Diamond trading and cutting centres'
- Knowledge of the Responsible Jewellery Council requirements
