Job Purpose


DAI is looking to recruit two entry level Coordinators to join a new graduate scheme at DAI Global UK Ltd.

The role is specifically targeted at bright and energetic new graduates who are keen to spend three years rotating around different departments within DAI in order to gain relevant experience in international development.

Experience will be provided in areas including (but not limited to):
business development, programme management, recruitment, and pricing.

At the end of the two to three years, each individual will be placed within one of the teams they worked in during the graduate scheme.

During the 12 months with the Business Development Unit the key experience gained will include:

  • Prepositioning for new business opportunities
  • technical, operational and commercial;
  • Preparation of live competitive tenders
  • technical, operational and commercial;
  • Recruitment of experts to be nominated in bids; and
  • Pricing of tenders.
There will also be opportunities to work on our growth initiatives e.g. Development Finance and Education as well as opportunities to undertake reconnaissance trips for specific new opportunities overseas.

During the 12 months with Delivery Unit the key experience gained will include:

  • Programme management; Programme finance; Team management; and Client management;
During the six months with the Commercial Team the key experience will include:

  • Preparation of commercial information and collaborate with viability assessment;
  • Client and partner engagement / negotiation;
  • Financial modelling;
  • Handover and start up; and
  • Contract amendments and addons.
During the six months in the recruitment team the key experience gained will be:

  • Proposal and project recruitment, including use of key recruitment tools;
  • How to identify, approach and speak with potential experts;
  • Developing job descriptions and preparing CVs;
  • Participation in interviews;
  • Renumeration negotiations; and,
  • Selling DAI to experts that we wish to recruit for proposals and programmes.

Qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience required:

Essential:

  • Excellent written and verbal skills uses clear and effective communication to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans
  • Strong organisational skills able to plan, organise, prioritise and oversee activities to meet objectives
  • Numerical skills has a strong grasp of numerical concepts and with a high level of attention to detail
  • Market research skills able to use research and analysis to develop a comprehensive understanding of market conditions
  • Project management skills ability to support the management of projects within desired cost time and quality parameters
  • Proactive, assertive and actionoriented with strong intellectual agility and ability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills — able to establish and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally
  • Able to be flexible, versatile and tolerant in a changing work environment whilst maintaining effectiveness
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Advanced level of MS Office
  • Ability to travel internationally if required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Desirable:

  • Demonstrable understanding of and interest in international development and working in an international / multicultural environment
  • Knowledge or experience of working with FCDO / EU and other major international development donors
  • Proven experience supporting consulting services or international development projects
  • Experience of quality management systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively in at least one other language
