We are growing Our Finance Team in Brighton are on the lookout for a Accounts Payable Manager to join or growing team of 4.


You will be will be responsible for managing the centralised Accounts Payable (AP) team who are responsible for purchase ledger, cash books and bank reconciliations for all UK companies.


You will be the main point of contact for a range of accounts payable functions and will build strong relationships with senior stakeholders internally and externally.


Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Manages invoice processing, payment, supplier statement reconciliation, aged creditors analysis, cashbooks and bank reconciliation for all UK companies;
  • Authorise payment on the bank portal when it is approved by the responsible Management Accountant or Finance Director;
  • Manages monthly closing of Purchase Ledger and Bank module in Financial System;
  • Manages Accountspayable mailbox, make sure all queries are dealt with agreed period based on SLA
  • Develops, implements and maintains procedures and policies related to accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines;
  • Identifies process weakness and inefficiency, drives process improvement for AP function;
  • Manages the workload of individual team member, ensure all routine jobs are covered while team members are off sick or on holiday;
  • Monitor the quality of the deliverables, make sure invoices and payments are processed correctly and timely as well as adhering with internal control procedures; make sure old aged creditors and bank reconcile items are dealt with;
  • Communicates regularly with stakeholders about the AP timetable, procedure updates and team updates;
  • Selects and hires employees for AP team; provides onboard training for new members; setting objectives for the team and evaluate their performance; organises regular jobrelated training for the team as well as other staff management duties;
  • Such other duties, as may from time to time be required, as commensurate with the role and the needs of the business.
