This is a great opportunity for you to be instrumental in supporting the development and management of our Release Management lifecycle service, within a fast pace and dynamic environment, which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise and our customers, spanning multiple software and hardware vendors.

Releases will be inclusive of, but not limited to, vendor application updates / patches, operating system patches, security advisories / improvements, hardware (IOS & firmware), upgrades, projects and programs.


The role will be required to deploy and support release management policies, along with the processes behind the relevant policies and thereafter assist to provide overall Release Management and governance to the business and our customers.


What You'll Be Doing:

nWork with internal / external teams and vendors to develop, implement and maintain, automation where feasible, across the Release Management service lifecycle.nSupport the maintenance of the Lifecycle Manager (LCM) database, inclusive of data-entry requirements, maintaining data quality & data integrity.nAssist in the release package design, build, configuration and package acceptance including business sign off.nCreate Change records and package release records specifying the effect on CIs within the Release Management service.nWork with project and service support teams to ensure any potential CI's are correctly identified and managed through a quality release management deployment programme.nEnsure that the CMDB is updated with release updates when a Change is implemented.nWork with wider shared services teams (NOC, Major Incident, Change, Problem, etc) in implementation of Release Management tools / procedures.nRequired to provide wider support within the Configuration Management space where required.


What we're looking for:

nStrong experience in release management and come from a networking background.nExcellent understanding of Service Management principles and Service Level metrics.nProven track record of providing excellent customer service to SLA's and experience of managing key customer relationships within a service management type role.nSound technical knowledge and understanding of IT / Network / Communications services including WAN / LAN, VoIP, Ethernet, ADSL / SDSL, Security, MPLS networks.nIntermediate level working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.nAbility to work well in a high-pressure environment, whilst maintaining focus, sense of urgency and decisiveness.nDemonstrate relationship building, motivation and influencing skills to achieve results.nExcellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.nExperience in the Telecoms, Service Provider, or IT industry, with a good understanding of Local Government, preferably from experience of working with or within this area.nExperience of large and complex service management contracts.nPossess mature interpersonal skills and is successful at developing and managing relationships at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.nIdeally ITIL qualification and experience of applying ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library framework) in the workplace.nIdeally have industry recognized network qualification (Cisco CCNA/Comp Network+)nGood documentation skills, specifically with regards to internal and customer processes.nKnowledge or experience using BMC Remedy or another ITSM tool.

nAbility to obtain Enhanced CRB, BPSS and SC clearance is required
