We have an exciting new opportunity for a Full Time Mental Health Ambulance Assistant at Ambulnz Community Partners to support non-emergency transfers of patients requiring Secure Transportation.

We assess, care, treat and transport hundreds of patients along with their carers/relatives in non-emergency, urgent and emergency situations every week.

Do you take a caring approach to everything you do? To enhance your patients experience, it is important that you are an excellent listener who enjoys meeting new people.

All our patients have different needs, and it is down to you to make sure that they are made to feel comfortable while on their journey.

You will have a real opportunity to make a difference.

This role will be particularly suited to those who have worked in public health services and have history of working with mental health patients, who wish to develop their knowledge skills within an ambulance environment.

Experience in having dealt with challenging persons is desirable but not essential.

Main Duties:

  • You will provide a professional and caring service to all patients

  • Have at least 4 years driving experience and no more than 3 points on your licence (for insurance purposes)
  • Physical fitness is important in this role as there is sometimes a requirement to reach inaccessible patients in a hurry (lots of stairs), manual handling and CPR
  • Have both of your COVID19 vaccinations due to dealing with vulnerable patients.
  • Have a warm and caring personality with the ability to connect with people.
  • This is a fulltime position, working an average of 40 hours per week. You need to be flexible as we run a 24/7 service to support the NHS, this includes days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Lastly, you will have quality references covering the last three years of employment history and a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
What is in it for you?
